“I had my wedding last Saturday here. Service was excellent. The 6 course Western dinner was fantastic. Finger food was serve to room before the event start and course that we missed are suggested to pack up for us. But because we are too full, our coordinator Jason suggest it to be our lunch so that food is hot and freshly prepared. Hotel room is clean and the scenery is nice.” — Ms Lau Yi Jun & Mr Hammeed “Sorry for the super late review!! 😀 We got to know Hotel Re! from January 2016 BOWS EVENT and we signed up on the spot. We were so glad that we made this decision until today! We held our Wedding Solemnization Luncheon of 40 pax at Hotel Re! about a week ago. Special thanks to F&B Director, Jason Tan whom promptly replied to my messages and emails, never fails to clear all my doubts when im unsure with the plannings. Bobian…im a anxious bride to be haha! Thumbs up for that! I also got a mini surprise when i received my bridal bouquet with pink hydrangea in it when i was told theres non. The ambiance and lightings at the function room was great and all my guest were seated comfortably while waiting for the event to start. The buffet food were fantastic too! Guests commented that food were served hot and delicious. The chef top up almost immediately when food were running low to ensure all my guests had their fill. I was too busy entertaining my guest that i didnt eat much but i managed to tabao abit of food up to my room when the event ended hahaha! The only disappointment part was the rain. It started raining at 2pm and got heavier until 5.30pm and i had no choice to hold my solemnization indoor at the function room instead of the outdoor garden which i’d paid for =( I was pinning high hopes to solemnize outdoor but it just didnt happen. However thanks to Jason again and his team with Danny, they helped us to shift the flower arch into the function room despite the rain (they were drenched! *opps yet they were always so smiley throughout the day) so that i can still walk under the arch with my father. We also managed to snap afew shots at the outdoor garden after the rain stopped. At least now i dont live with any regrets for not solemnizing at the garden. My husband and i were very satisfied with the overall services, from Wedding plannings (my 24/7 coordinator aka Jason to ensure my wedding runs smoothly), to the delicious food and our 3D2N stay at the Business Room. Great hotel and polite staffs from the Re!Fill Restaurant when we had our morning breakfast as well as check out lunch. Oh by the way, you guys got the best Carbonara pasta!!! My husband loves it!! Once again, thank you for the memorable services that were provided for us. “I held my wedding on the 14th May 2016. Before this day, I had been sourcing many hotels for a package since a year ago. To be honest, Hotel Re was not on my top list during my sourcing period. I went there on a look and see attitude. There i met Jason, the manager. He was really friendly and knows what we are looking for. My wife and i are convinced by him for our own thematic wedding. The packages are quite flexible and can be negotiated to fit your needs. They are able to accommodate and customize themes for our special day. A year ago seem far but time really pass real fast. Jason being our banquet manager, he is readily replying all questions and concerns. The respond from him is relatively fast even during night time.Many of the event flows and little details which we missed out, he is the one to highlight and also offer us with ideas. I can say he is a really responsible person. He really thinks from the couple point of view. THE ROOM
The bridal suite is really cool and nice, from water bed, hanging chairs and a bath tub with jacuzzi function surrounded with see through glass – this kicks in the honeymoon feel especially after the wedding night. The whole combination in the room really makes us feel romantic and cosy. As my wife have relatives whom flew in from overseas, we took extra room from them. They were offered at a social rate as we had our wedding with them.The family suite is very cosy and neat. All the rooms are very clean and tidy. THE SERVICE
Hotel staffs are friendly, Hotel also provide a mini bus to fetch my guests from Outram Park MRT and they gave very prompt service when request are made. My wife was ferry with a buggy from the hotel lobby to the ballroom when she changed her gown during march in. THE BALLROOM
The ballroom is well decorated and fits perfectly to the theme we want. It looks grand and elegant! Even the reception table is well plan and decorated!THE FOOD We went for food tasting 1 month before our actual day, we made some changes to the dishes and the Master Chef William really listen and change accordingly to our taste and preferences. The quality was not compromised on the actual day. Out of ALL the guest I asked and received feedback so far, everyone is praising the food quality. They are also generous with the portions. Even the food presentation is something to admire on. THE AUDIO AND VIDEO
I can say they have pretty decent audio and visuals. 3 projectors to ensure all guest can view what is happening on stage from all tables. THE EVENT FLOW
During the actual day, Jason and his team ensure our guest are well taken care of. The dish serving timing between 1st and 2nd march in are well coordinated and adjusted to fit the bride changing time.
2hrs before the start of dinner, the whole event was being brief and run through with my coordinator so as to ensure smooth flow of the wedding. CONCLUSION
I would highly recommend anyone who wish to have customised weddings to consider Hotel RE. They have absolutely great food, excellent service, amazing atmosphere. Special thanks goes out to Mr. Jason Tan who handled our wedding event. He made sure that every single detail from big ones to the slightest ones are well taken care of. He even give us advises based on his experiences on what to do and what to input in our itinerary of our event. Makes us feel calm and assured by assuring us that we can leave it in his hands. Pre-Event Mr Jason Tan was the person in charge of our event. He was patient and accommodating to our many requests for the decoration and the banquet menu itself. He gave useful advice on what to prepare and what to look out for. The food tasting session was impressive. Celebrity chef William Ang spoke to us after the session to get feedback. The entire mood was relaxing and enjoyable. Norman from tech support was very resourceful and helpful in troubleshooting issues during the audio and video rehearsal. He also arranged for a spare laptop in case there were issues on the actual night itself. Again, Jason came down personally and provided some advice on the photo montages. Event Day According to my relatives, the food was better than during the food tasting session. All guests commented that the food presentation was exceptional and tasted excellent. This surprised me as the usual stories I heard is to lower expectations of the food during the actual banquet. Thumbs up here to William! Jason was with us throughout the banquet, cueing us on when to move off to the next event of the night. Norman was excellent in managing the audio and video. Stanley, the floor manager, was attentive to details. Issues that came up were quickly handled without much fuss. I would have thought that after the payment and one night stay at the hotel, that would be the end. However, we were having trouble with the photo booth vendor and when it was highlighted to Jason, he jumped in to help push it to a resolution. Overall, it was an excellent experience with Hotel Re!. Throughout the planning process till our big day, Jason’s service was top notch. He was responsive on call or IM, even after office hours, and delivered action items which he promised promptly. We had some crazy ideas for our event, and he was always patient and attentive to hear us out, before sharing with how that could be possibly arranged (and of course, tactfully advising on the feasibility for a few cases). According to my brothers and sisters, he was also key in managing the hiccups that occurred during the wedding. To us as a couple, everything seemed to have run really smoothly. Doing business with Jason was easy and assuring; you discuss your problem/concern with him, he would have it resolved/managed for you. As a last piece, we were even more convinced that we chose the right venue during the day of food tasting. The dishes were unorthodox; they were decorated ununsually, and taste-wise, there were special touches, that made the food delicious. For example, for the roast chicken, instead of salt being given as seasoning, it was accompanied by a peanut sauce, which was addictive. And to mention that the chicken was embellished with sculpted pineapples and flowers garnishes – a beautiful sight! The dishes appeared as they were on the actual day, and so we had no fallen expectations. In our own lingo, Jason is the Man behind the logistical planning of our wedding dinner. My colleagues and the Management were in awe of the set up, service and most importantly, the food. Big thanks to Chef William Ang and his team for constantly checking out on our buffet and making sure the food was always topped up. I would like to thank Mr. Jason Tan, the F&B Director for his excellent service and being extremely on the go when I found out I lacked an extra bowl for the lucky draw. Even though the hotel has ran out of it due to the full occupancy of events that day, he managed to find an extra one at the last minute. Throughout the 1.5 years (yes, we booked our wedding banquet 1.5 years in advance), we have met up with Jason (or his colleagues like Wei Jia… Standley..) for multiple times. Each time, we have different request, and most of them are to view the rooms, and the ballroom all over again, despite having to have already viewed them. They brought us anyway, with no complains or frustration. Speaking of rooms, we were brought to all the different types of rooms ranging from the Bridal theme suites (Gold, Silver and Bronze); to the triple room, business room, deluxe room… etc. All of the designs were fabulous, you would not feel that you are in a cold and plain rooms like any of the 5 star hotels. The colours are loud, welcoming and the layout is special and cozy. Wanting our big day to be perfect, we have countless requests, questions, clarifications etc etc… I recall changing our photobooth design for at least 3-4 times. But they did it for us, till we find that it was the best. Not only had he and his team patiently obliged to all of our requests, but had also tried to guide us through this entire planning process through their experiences. From the minute that I checked in to the hotel at 2pm in the afternoon, I never felt as princess-like in my entire life. The room was decorated with flower petals all over, romantic swans sitting on the round-shaped water bed, bath robes all set up…. and the personal jacuzzi was calling out for me… hahaha. Pre-wedding snacks was serve at 4pm+, just when I was feeling hungry already. The menu was a surprise, there was hokkien mee, more than 10 slices of cakes of different flavours, fruits, finger food like calamari rings… fish cakes.. etc etc. As we have provided some rooms for my hubby’s overseas relatives to stay in, I was more surprised when I received calls from Jason for every ‘action’ and ‘status’ of the guests in the rooms, including room service that they ordered. This is the kind of service that I call, going the extra miles! Which couple would want to receive a huge bomb when they check out, unknowingly? Through the banquet, I was ferried to and fro the ballroom in a buggy and Wei Jia even helped with to fix my wedding gown, so that I was guaranteed to sit comfortably. Every now and then they kept serving warm water with a straw to me, to ensure that I am constantly hydrated. How sweet is that? It started raining towards the end of the banquet, heavily. Our guests were all worried of how it would be possible for them to get to their vehicle, or to get a cab. This is when the Hotel Service staff really made my jaw dropped, in a good way. Two or three of them were on standby at the entrance with huge umbrellas, and took EVERY guests one by one to their vehicle. They were drenched by the 5th guest that they sheltered, as I saw that they practically did not shelter themselves as the guest was indeed their priority. After all of the guests have left, these boys did not stop to have a bath like we would. They continued to work in the ballroom, to remove the tables in their wet attire, in the freezing air conditioning ballroom. They deserve my TWO THUMBS UP. The great service does not end here, this is followed by supper delivered to us at 12 mid-night to our room, just nice that we were both starving. The final bill was also sent to us and clearly explained to us what the charges are. In the morning, Jason gave us a morning call at 10.29am (as our breakfast is supposed to be served a 10.30am), asking if we would like our breakfast now, and what is our preferred drinks etc… I felt so pampered, really. Our last minute request for a late check-out for all of us (incl the other guests) are granted almost immediately. 18 January’14 “My husband and I held our wedding dinner at Hotel Re! in January 2014. Ever since we signed up for the package in December 2012, we have consistently been impressed with the service and hospitality given to us by the hotel’s Director of F&B, Jason Tan, from the very first day. He provided us with plenty of practical suggestions (which we took up) during the one-year of planning for our big day. Suggestions like selection of songs, choices of menu items, and transport arrangements, amongst many others, made our planning that much smoother.The years of experience that Jason had in organising wedding banquets shone through in our conversations and discussions with him. His steady and humble demeanor made us feel that we were in good hands. Jason’s undivided attention to us made us feel as if we were his only customers. During the course of our planning with the hotel (including our stay there), the quality of service provided by the staff whom we interacted with was excellent. The food-tasting session was the time when our families got to savour the dishes that would be served at the wedding. The quality of food was impressive. Our feedback on the food was immediately acted upon. For example, when we found that the quantity of one of the food items was insufficient, the chef acceded without hesitation to our request to increase the quantity of that item. Due to the great cooking and attention to detail by the chef, our guests enjoyed the dishes immensely during the wedding dinner. In addition, as we had invited many Muslim friends, we requested for the hotel to apply for the dinner to be Halal-certified even though we will cost us an additional fee. As it is unusual for a Chinese wedding to be Halal-certified, Jason made sure that we were certain of this decision before successfully applying for the Halal certification. Although the location of the hotel may appear remote at first, most of our 320 guests did not have any issues with finding their way there and showed up on time for the wedding at about 8pm. The hotel also provided a complimentary shuttle bus service from Outram Park MRT which began from 7pm. The layout of the ballroom was very spacious. There were no pillars blocking the view of any guests. Guests could easily see the stage from where they are seated. Projections of the stage were also strategically screened around the ballroom. Moving from table to table for photo-taking was a breeze due to the arrangements of the tables. Overall, we are very happy with everything about Hotel Re! from the moment we signed on the dotted line till our wedding night. Although there were some minor hiccups, but the overall experience was truely wonderful.We would like to compliment your staff especially Mr Jason Tan (F&B Director) and Mr William Ang (Executive Chef) We were hunting for a wedding dinner venue, sometime in mid 2012, which could hold a buffet dinner for about 250pax and at the same time, not a boring banquet dinner at a usual hotel location. While we were at Marina Square, we came across a wedding roadshow. Jason (then F&B Manager) served us and we were amazed with his service standard and professionalism till we even mistake him for a sales person from the hotel. We felt really at ease while chatting with him and he could provide us with the neccessary details. The hotel premises featured a ballroom which was not part of the hotel and there were a quite few wedding themes which we could choose from. These were a plus point for us as it is very unique. After discussion, we signed up the wedding package with Jason. We would say that throughout the wedding preparations, Jason was very helpful and thoughtful. He is a person who is willing to go the extra mile for customers who are under his care, even on his off day. We could vividly remember that despite the long day on our wedding day, he brought the wedding cake and some bottled drinks for the both of us even though he could have just let the room service handle it. On top of that, we were glad that he was there physically throughout the whole day at the ballroom to ensure that everything was in place as the coordinator was on leave. When we were there to view the status of the ballroom preparations in the afternoon, we even saw him picking up a set of utensils and started cleaning them. Which F&B director will go the extra mile to ensure everything is in tip top condition, given that they already have ample staff to handle such minor tasks? He also ensured that there were staff assisting us when we were taking our pre wedding video sometime in August this year. Mr William Ang also ensured our buffet menu was well planned and the setup was wonderful. He added personal touch when we shared with him during our initial meetup to discuss about the menu that most of our guests are family and relatives. To our delight, Chef William managed to alter the food menu to suit our guests and we end up having tons of compliments about the food especially the laksa and hokkien noodles. On top of that, the topping up of the buffet food was done very promptly and our guests need not wait so long for their food. Overall, the wedding experience was wonderful. Your delicated staffs made the whole experience even better. These staffs are really an asset to your company and we would also like to send our warmest congrats to Jason on his recent promotion. On day of the event, again your staff and you gave us excellent service. You allowed us to come earlier to prepare our decorations and to set up our reception and prize tables. The person in charge of the parking was polite and directed me where park my car. When I came, I was so happy to see the ball room beautifully set up and ready for our event. Then I was immediately, greeted by Mr Fairoz, with enthusiasm. He told me he was in charge of my school event on that day and he offered his help. He went out of his way to attend to our last minute requests such as microphone stands, a table for the cake cutting ceremony and even agreed to help cut the cake that we brought and put it on the buffet table. Throughout the hi-tea, I could see everyone from the waiters, waitresses, and food servers to Mr Fairoz, working very hard to ensure that my school event was a success!
